salary differences
Allen just look. As a former employee of this department I just couldn’t understand the setup of this department. Take a look and read.

Police officer position $44,000 in average work 235 days a year with only 14 days vacation.
Supervisor’s: Sergeants positions lowest paid $45,000 a year. Supervising some subordinates holding a title of Security Specialist earning a lot more than their first line supervisor in salary per year.
Responsibilities
Security Specialist’s responsibility assigned to a youth action center at a secondary school campus with little supervising responsibility . Report monthly stats. Complete a youth action center form yac 16 utilized for documentation.
Police officer’s enforce state law, arrest, testify in court, complete written reports that do go to court, enforce school code of conduct, and protect district properties at night. A three shift police department.
Quite a difference in job duties/salaries. Civilian security employees salaries much higher with lots time off.
With those civilian security specialist salaries additional police officer’s could be hired.
What a job don’t you think?

Police Versus Security Pay
