State looks into possible misuse of funds by DISD

NEWS 8 INVESTIGATES
DALLAS - Just days ago, the US Department of Education accused DISD officials of misusing federal grant money. Now, new allegations have arisen.
This time the allegations stem from the possible misuse of state grant funds.
An inspector general's report accuses DISD of misspending $3 million in federal dollars in 2006. And while DISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa has since made big changes in accounting procedures and personnel, News 8 learned that millions of state dollars designed to help kids get ready for college are instead being used by DISD to help balance the budget.
In 2006, Texas lawmakers became upset with the declining graduation rates and voted to pump $320 million into local school districts to provide a fix. It is an annual infusion of cash called the "High School Allotment."

ACS Program
All that I can say is that if the Superintendent who has a Doctorate degree and makes over $300,000.00 dollars a year and who has lawyers who think that his son is a 1st generation college student and he falls into a low socioeconomic income bracket is lord help us all. When will this madness end! I don't care how you pitch the issue his son should not have been selected for the program. To say that you need the Valedictorian to use as an example is a very poor reason to select him. I'm sure that there was someone else at Hillcrest in the top of the class that qualified for participation in the program. I am not faulting the student, his parents had to sign a contract to participate, can they both not read, or read for comprehension?
Misuse of funds
Is it a misuse of Dallas ISD funds to pay employees who are not yet certified or working on certification or better still working on suspended certifications? I would say so, but who am I? Special Education teachers don't get NEAR the respect we deserve however, it appears many other disciplines and some leadership positions don't have to abide by the same rules. We go to school to focus on working with children with exceptional needs. We work in all subject areas, math, reading, social studies and science. We help with lesson plans, ARD's, feedings and changings and report to leaders who don't have a clue or don't have the credentials or the state chose to take away the credentials! I'm so glad I was able to leave DISD. When the fat lady sings, we better all watch out for the mess to hit the ceiling.
It's not just DISD
You see this happening in other public schools across the nation. When the "fat lady sings", the entire nation will be in turmoil. Instead of whining about it, fix it, rebuild it, don't expect some higher authority to grant your wishes.
A lot of material was taken out of the book of Genesis because of the way Adam and Eve interacted with God. When you read what they took out you will understand why. They were really whiny.
Includef the 1.2 Million Dollars from the ACS Program
That money was definitely misused. It was not for the elite. It was for the poor. DISD is a Sham. Hinojosa needs to resign!!! He stinks and so does his son. As a senior he had sense enough to know that he was not entitled to the progam.
Other students that were supposed to get the program were denied. It will all come out SOON!!
