The Mr. Rubber Stamp Award

Mr. Rubber Stamp

Thanks to trustees Ron Price and Leigh Ann Ellis, in less than two weeks, the DISD Board of Trustees will likely hold officer elections.  At that time, Jack Lowe's term as Board President may come to an end.

We tried to think of something fitting to mark Jack's tenure.

Jack is open, for instance, about his hands-off approach to dealing with his trustee-ship in the District--telling us (and anyone else) that a person really can be a successful trustee by limiting his or her hours spent to about 4 to 8 hours a week and just trusting the administration.

Jack has maintained his hands-off approach through numerous embarrassing District events--from a $64 million dollar budget shortfall to several scandals.

Here are some quotes to highlight Jack's tenure: "the money's gone and there's nothing we can do about it", "I'm not interested in being educated by you about the rules", "the district is a pretty big customer for things we sell", "we evaluated him [and] gave him the feedback on it"

Am I The Only One

I live in Mr. Lowe's district and have been to some of the very rare meetings where he is in attendance. Is it just me or does it seem like Mr. Lowe doesn't want input from anyone on anything? It seems like he is just there to talk or to unruffle feathers. But you cant tell him anything. Am I the only one who feels like this?

I do

and yes...he does not want input from Joe the Plumber ie the taxpayer he is supposed to be representing.

Funny

Yes very funny!!!!

Changed Your Mind?

Allen, Allen, Allen...
Changed your mind about Hinojosa? I remember you blogging what a great man and father Michael is not to long ago. Now that your child attends Travis, I bet you changed your mind. No wonder this blog is dying-out. The DMN gets hundreds of post daily and inside information daily, but you barely get enough info to keep your gossip-rag up. Catch a clue, you like your buddy Hinojosa will soon be nothing but a bad memory.

[Ed Note: Ooh... scathing, man. Go have a beer and chill, dude. This kind of thing is liable to develop into schizophrenia if you don't watch it!

BTW, here's what I've always said about Hinojosa. I haven't changed my mind. He's a deficient administrator who has a knack for surrounding himself with questionable talent.]

This is about Lowe.

I think you may need obsessive medications. Often times confusion leads to mental breakdown. I think this mystery person needs to visit a mental health unit and get medicated.

That is a wonderful tribute to a tenure that has gone way beyond the expectations and actions of the previous boards. I thought we had seen too much 10 or 15 years ago, but this last season was really deserving of this fine distinguished honor.

I have a request. Could someone restore the falsified records of my child. You know, the progress reports that the school district changed in order to cheat? I understand there is no reason to have ethics in grade recording, but I thought since there is a rush to change everything all of a sudden.....

Funniest Thing I've Ever Seen

This is a sidesplit! You have wayyyyy too much time on your hands!
