My grandchildren attend school in the Pleasant Grove area,last school year students were allowed to wear jeans on Fridays if they paid a dollar,when I questioned the Principal as to what all the money was going to she gave some lame answers but quickly stopped the blue jean Fridays.
I heard second-hand that some of the staff said the money was being raised to finance a vacation for the pricipal,since this was second hand info and sounded far fetched I let it go.
Should have listened,Friday we went to pick up my grandkids and several staff members were outside asking parents for donations,we asked what they were for and was shocked when they said they were raising money to send the Principal to Vegas this summer,but now I'm pissed,what gives them this right.
I know there was sometime that lapsed since my own children finished school and my grandchildren started but have things in the District changed that much and are times so bad for our teachers and Principals that they have to hustle parents for money to take a vacation.

SO tax the brats to get your happiness.. just an example of ATTITUDE... and do it to the poor kids.. now that is really sick...
You are thwarting thier plans.. give them the money.
bottom line ... the principal is away. So you are thwarting their plans if you complain about it.
Yes times are bad Ms. Antoinette and it's gonna get worse.
Haven't you checked out the latest news on the economy? The plan is a short rise and then another crash.

Trust me, principals make enough money to take themselves to Vegas. Chances are the staff came up with the idea that they wanted to show their principal some sort of appreciation with a vacation and while that is great, they used poor judgement.
Hinojosa and his son
Why does Hinojosa's get to take advantage of using the consulting firm when he does not fall in any of the the categories described by the contract?
"But, according to its service contract with DISD, ACS was to provide the service to "seniors who would not be going to college due to low socio-economics, lack of funds, lack of parental support or do not have the marketing support to gain entrance to these schools."
He is not disadvantaged - his father makes six figures; it is said that part of Hinojosa's package was that his son's tuition would be paid to any school he chose - Allen please say this isn't so! Can we get clarification on this?
If this is true, why are taxpayers paying him over $300,00 AND paying his son's tuition while our teacher's struggle to send their own children to school.
His son fits none of the criteria and ended up taking the spot that could have gone to another student.
If the teacher's kids can't use this service,then neither should his children. It isn't fair. He claims he did nothing wrong - he is missing the point. His child benefited and it clearly violated the contract. When are we going to get rid of this man who seems to think he is above the law. He didn't know ACS had recruited his son? C'mon Hinojosa...none of us were born yesterday! Tell that to someone who really is stupid! The Dallas taxpayers arent.

I find it abhorrent that one believes they have a right to investigate other people's personal packages. I don't want to look at Hinojosa's personal package. I'm sure others don't want to look at it either. In the spirit of transparency, I'm sure Hinojosa would comply and expose his package to everyone but please could we stop short of a probe. The thought of a probe seems too invasive, unreasonable, unwarranted, and a violation of his constitutional rights against unreasonable search and seizure.
Please keep your packages to yourselves. That's a private matter between 2 parties (ACS and Hinojosa's son) and you aren't the second party.
We are all above the law in some sense the question is are you willing to deal. If the red light hasn't changed in the 15 minutes you are standing there, should you just look both ways and then cross?
Instead of looking for this one way to send your kid to college.. try focusing on other ways to get him there without the negativity. All it does is generate more waves of negativity that generate from you and it propagates to other people and then finds it's way back to the source, you.
What are you gonna do with this info once your suspicions are proven true? Be angry? Form a lynch mob? That's right all you can do is whine.
I bet you are the kind of person that would strip search a student for aspirin because it violated school policy.

I don't support mob mentality. I support civil liberties, individual rights as well as our constitutional rights. I do not support the imposition of other people's (your) idea of righteousness and morality on others.. because..well... they (you) may be wrong like "the inquisition" wrong.... "Salem Witch Hunt" wrong ... "Nationalist Socialist Party" wrong.
Driving 55, Seat belt laws, smoking bans, gun control, highway vehicle searches are like prohibition... laws like these including those made after the "declaration" of war on drugs, and the war on terror were designed by the ill informed and misused to generate revenue; maintain the police state; and in the process, perpetuate a fascist/Nazi-like culture all in the guise of public safety and at the same time promote the erosion your constitutional rights and individual freedoms.
Don't get me wrong. I do support solid police judgment and discretion. Those guys that can think above the rules and laws yet work within the confines of those laws and do it with grace and tact for the good of our republic are A-OK albeit anal retentive personalities.

In today's climate, separating republicans from democrats is superfluous as democrats are acting like republicans and republicans are acting like democrats. They are in essence the same party and together they will change our country into a police state similar to the Nazi and Mussolini governments... and they all work for the banker.
Think about it... who got bailed recently... it wasn't you.. it was AIG, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan. The Government and the Banks are in on it together to make slaves of you and me.

Reagan's war on drugs and Bush's war on terror was the start of all this... it has bankrupted the US economy, depleted the amounts that the state can give to support our schools; is the primary cause of our district's fiscal issues and is the reason why your teacher lost their job in the ongoing RIF.
DISD is not the only school district with financial problems and RIFs. This problem is systemic and nationwide. Our school systems are failing across the country.
Blaming the sup is a witch hunt.. it's the republican presidency, the democratically controlled congress, the shifty Federal Reserve and a corporate biased judicial system that did it.
Your government does not work for you anymore it works for the International Bank aka the IMF. Seriously, audit the IRS and figure out that some of that money goes overseas to pay for our debt to England. Yes King George financed both sides of the revolution. A win-win situation for him.
The cause of DISD's fiscal disaster was not some mustachioed Saddam Hussein look a like with a mullet head and an Ed. D; it's the guy that lends the money to fund our wars that you need to take a closer look at.

How you are defining this as Mob Mentality is beyond me (us)? He the SUP has done alot of underhanded things that are coming to the light!!!!! Does this make it right? NO! Innocent people have suffered because of him. Many beleive he used the situation at Lang to take the heat away from himself, you do the MATH it was not reported to the media, that it was optional for the 8th grade students to retake the MATH test. Given the scenario that none of the students passed, and all had to be held back in the same grade and you now have the same amout of students coming in as new 8th graders, where will all of these students be housed at Lang? How can you justify holding this many students back. The SUP (all about selfgain) was well aware of the situation before school ended,(or maybe not because he was not aware of his son being apart of the College program, or his right hand man given a big JUICY salary increase because of having extra duties) why were students not allowed to retest before school ended? Please do not confuse your personal world views with the reality of the crock going on within DISD. Case and Point.

Regardless of your method of removing Hinojosa from office, his absence is not going to change how the system works...
Hinojosa is a highly paid figurehead...a scapegoat...
...there will be another scapegoat after Hinojosa.
He's the guy to be blamed for all your troubles so that as you scrutinize him while envying his wallet, the real issue of dumming down Americans is addressed behind your back.
American kids aren't supposed to learn math like the other kids do in the other countries. They are supposed to learn math skills much later in their intellectual development so that they will lag behind other country's kids.
You can't stop the system.... getting rid of Hinojosa doesn't change anything. The system will find another patsy, er um... candidate to take his place and continue what it's been doing. Taking money from you and keeping your kids stupid so that when they grow up, they will slave away building pyramids in exchange for paper.
